Summer's stormiest stretch continues in W. MI

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The unusually calm summer isn’t over yet and it appears the stormiest period may be upon us.

The first line of storms developed in Wisconsin then moved into the lower peninsula Sunday night. The storms produced strong wind gusts, knocking down a few trees and power lines. At the peak, Consumers Energy said more than 61,000 customers without power early Monday morning.
