GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — ArtPrize visitors don’t have to wait until the end of this year’s competition to see a grand prize winning piece.
ArtPrize 2014 winner, Intersections, will remain on display at the Grand Rapids Art Museum through ArtPrize 10.
The exhibition it’s a part of was originally scheduled to end Aug. 26, but the GRAM announced Wednesday it will be extended through Oct. 7
Anila Quayyum Agha used a laser to cut intricate designs into the 6.5' wooden cube, which casts ornate shadows onto the walls of the room where “Intersections” hangs.
Her piece, Mirror Variations will also be available for viewing. Admission to see both pieces is free during ArtPrize, which ends Oct. 7.
Intersections is the only ArtPrize entry to win the public vote and juried grand prize. The GRAM says the piece is as popular as ever.
