WOOD TV8 and NBC stations across the country are teaming up with hundreds of shelters to host Clear the Shelters, a nationwide pet adoption drive this Saturday, to help find loving homes for animals in need. The participating shelters will offer discounts on Saturday:

- Adopters will get the chance to "SPIN THE WHEEL" to receive a discount on their adoption fee. 10% all the way up to 100%
- Adult cats over the age of 5 months are fee waived
- All cats, including kittens, are Adopt One and Take Another Feline Friend Home for Free
- Puppies are not included in the adoption special - their adoption fee remains $250.

- Dogs 5 months and older are $100.
- Kittens under 5 months are $7.
- Cats 5 months to 7 years are $5.
- Cats and Kittens are adopt one get one free.
- Cats and dogs over the age of 7 years are fee waived.
- Puppies under age of 5 months will not be available for adoption on the day of the event.
It is recommended that you call ahead and pre-qualify so that your experience on Saturday is expedited.
Since the Clear the Shelters 2018 event started on July 30, 330 pets have been adopted from the participating shelters in West Michigan, with more than 53,000 adoptions nationwide.
