GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — WOOD TV8 and NBC stations across the country are teaming up with hundreds of shelters to host Clear the Shelters, a nationwide pet adoption drive on Aug. 18 to help find loving homes for animals in need.
More than 150,000 pets found their forever homes since 2015. There are two participating shelters in our viewing area:
- Harbor Humane Society in Ottawa County
- Humane Society of West Michigan in Walker
Some are offering discounts for adoptions on Saturday only. It is recommended that you call ahead and pre-qualify so that your experience on Saturday is expedited.
