GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (via WOOD TV 8) - When you hear about the company DTE Energy, you might think about the importance of utilities in our communities. But, the DTE Energy Foundation does so much more. Here to talk with us about that today is lynette dowler.
In 2017, the DTE Energy Foundation awarded 600 grants to non-profits across the state. They focus on areas that include: Arts and Culture, Education and Employment, Economic Progress, Basic Needs, Community Transformation and Environment.
The DTE Energy Foundation believes that when communities gather together for these events they become stronger. Also, these events are critical to local economies and stimulate the economy. The events the Foundation support add to the Michigan economy to the tune of more than $50 million. Some of those include: The National Cherry Festival, GRand Jazz Fest, the Lakeshore Art Fair and ArtPrize.
