2-month-old critically injured; suspects charged with abuse

LANSING, Mich. (WOOD) — Police have charged two people with child abuse after a 2-month-old baby boy was critically injured.

The Eaton County Sheriff's Department responded to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing on July 3 to investigate an injured infant.

Deputies worked with investigators from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. They found the infant had multiple brain bleeds and a possible skull fracture.

After multiple tests at Sparrow Hospital, medical staff believed the injuries on the baby were caused by two separate assaults.
