GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Local health officials want to remind parents to make back-to-school vaccine appointments, especially for students who will be starting school early this year.
Several students will be returning to class before Labor Day. More than two dozen school districts in the Kent and Ottawa County Area Intermediate School Districts will start the 2018-2019 school year between Aug. 20 and Aug. 28.
Jenison Public Schools registrar and pupil accountant Lorri Gierman said that means the paperwork to enroll a student or any other student requirements will be due one week earlier than normal. That includes up-to-date student immunization records.
