2 arrested after home invasion in Dowagiac

DOWAGIAC, Mich. (WOOD) — Two people were arrested Thursday after an alleged home invasion that turned into an assault in Dowagiac.

It happened around 1 a.m. at a home in the 400 block of N Front Street.

Officers were sent to the home on a report of an assault inside the home. The victim also reported one of the suspects had a handgun and was threatening them with it.

While traveling to the residence, the victim told officers the suspects were leaving in a silver vehicle, which officers saw near the intersection of N Front and Division streets. Officers followed the vehicle as it made a turn and conducted a traffic stop on Orchard Street, near Spruce Street.
