Good Samaritan helps save semi driver after crash

GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A retired physician out for a  walk may have helped save the life a semi-truck driver who lost  consciousness while driving in Grand Haven Township on Tuesday.

It  happened around 9:48 a.m. Tuesday near US-31 and Hayes Street. The semi  was traveling north on US-31 when the driver lost consciousness, veered  over the median and crashed.

After the crash, the physician went  to the driver and performed life-saving procedures until emergency  responders arrived to the scene.

The driver is currently in serious condition at an area hospital.
