Fireworks, parades and July 4 celebrations

July 4th fireworks are all around West Michigan!

Dorr celebrates with five days of patriotic fun. There’s a 5K run-walk on Saturday, then on Sunday a disc golf tournament, concert and classic car show. Carnival opens on Monday with free family night. Tuesday is the flea market, karaoke contest and lantern launch. Wednesday, Independence Day, starts with a community breakfast, then the parade, war-bird fly-over, bingo, live music, and fireworks at dusk.

SATURDAY

Caledonia:  The Kilt Klassic 5k starts at 8 a.m., parade at 11, followed by frog and turtle races, then fireworks at dusk.

TUESDAY

Comstock Park watches the fireworks after the Whitecaps game at Fifth Third Ballpark.

Ionia: fireworks at the Free Fair grounds at dusk.

WEDNESDAY

Ada: pancake breakfast from 7 to 9:30 a.m., parade at 10, community party and classic car show at 11, fireworks at dusk.

Allendale: pancakes at 7:30 a.m., parade 10:30, party from noon to 4 p.m., entertainment from 5 to 8, fireworks at Ada Township Park at 10 p.m.

Cascade: book sale at 8:30 a.m., parade at 10 with jet fly-by, carnival from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. by the library, then fireworks at Ada Christian School at dusk.

East Grand Rapids: parade at noon followed by party, fireworks over Reeds Lake at dusk.

Grand Haven: fireworks around 9:45 p.m., following a free Musical Fountain performance.

Grand Rapids: fireworks at Ah-Nab-Awen Park by the Ford Museum at approximately 10:30 p.m., following live band concert and family activities.

Grandville: pancake breakfast at 7:30 a.m., parade at 11, carnival from 1 to 4 p.m., live music from 2 p.m., fireworks from the middle school at dusk.

Holland: fireworks at dusk over Lake Macatawa.

Hopkins: music, games, queen pageant, and fireworks at dusk.

Kentwood: pancake breakfast at 7:30 a.m., 5k run at 8:30, parade at 9:30. Carnival rides and games, fireworks at dusk at Crestwood Middle School.

Marne: fireworks after the races at Berlin Raceway.

Muskegon: fireworks over Muskegon Lake from Heritage Landing at dusk, part of RockStock.

Shelbyville: fireworks over Briggs Lake at dusk.

Whitehall and Montague: big parade at 10 a.m. from Whitehall city hall into downtown Montague, fireworks over White Lake at dusk
