GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The founder and leaders of ArtPrize are poised to make a major announcement Thursday afternoon.
The organization will hold a 3 p.m. news conference to announce “exciting plans for the next decade,” according to a news release.
ArtPrize founder Rick DeVos will join executive director Jori Bennett, artistic director Kevin Buist and community leaders for the big reveal, which will be livestreamed on woodtv.com.
Bennett says the announcement puts ArtPrize “in an exciting position to again be the accelerant for conversation about art and creative expression,” but did not elaborate about the plans.
The announcement will take place at Belknap Park atop Grand Rapids Project X – an earthen and asphalt sculpture spanning several acres.
ArtPrize will celebrate its own “X” this fall, when the world’s largest art competition of its kind marks ten years.
