$1M unclaimed months after winning ticket sold in Ionia

IONIA, Mich. (WOOD) — Time is ticking down for the owner of a $1 million Powerball ticket sold in Ionia.

Michigan Lottery officials say more than eight months have passed and the winner still hasn’t come forward. By law, players have one year to come forward and collect their winnings, or the money will move into the state’s school aid fund.

The Marathon gas station at 121 North Dexter St. sold the winning ticket, which matched all five white balls drawn: 8,10,21,23 and 25.

The winner must contact the Michigan Lottery public relations division at 517.373.1237 to schedule an appointment to collect their prize at the lottery headquarters in Lansing.
