'Very serious' crash closes Kent Co. road; Aero Med launched

CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Aero Med has been called to a serious crash in southern Kent County, dispatchers confirm.

It  happened around 9:20 a.m. on Patterson Avenue and 108th Street, on the  border of Gaines and Caledonia townships, according to authorities.

Dispatchers say the crash involved two vehicles, one of which is a gravel truck or some sort of utility truck.

It’s unclear how many people are injured, but the Dutton Fire Department called the crash "very serious" on its Facebook page.

Firefighters say Patterson south of 108th Street is closed in both directions. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.

Story developing.
