Victim ID'd in Grand Rapids neighbor shooting

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Family has identified the victim of a Sunday shooting in Grand Rapids.

Annette Vaught was outside a home in the 900 block of Thomas Street SE Sunday afternoon when she was shot. Grand Rapids police said the shooting stemmed from a dispute between neighbors.

Vaught’s family said she is still in critical condition, but is “doing amazing” and her vitals are really good, she is talking and breathing on her own.

The suspect in the shooting, Willie Bryant, was arrested Monday night and is expected to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon. Bryant is also the suspect in a shooting that killed 48-year-old gas station clerk Shannon Schoen Monday morning.

Bryant is facing three charges that include attempted murder in relation to the shooting of Vaught.
