Kzoo-area residents wary of possible flooding

KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Heavy rain led to some flooding in the Kalamazoo area Monday, and there are more chances for rain overnight and Tuesday.

Kalamazoo and Comstock townships were hit hard by flooding in February. At the time, Cheryl Spalding, who lives in the Lakewood neighborhood, had to be rescued from the floodwater, which also destroyed the inside of her home and totaled her car.

On Monday evening, she said she was aware of the possibility for more flooding but was it won’t reach her house this time.
