Deputies investigating fire at Berrien Co. park as arson

BAINBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say a fire at a Berrien County park is being investigated as an arson. 

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office said a passerby called authorities around 10 p.m. Friday, May 4 when they noticed the bathrooms at the Flowing Wells Roadside Park were fully engulfed in flames.

The park — which is owned by the Michigan Department of Transportation — is located at 1999 N. M-140 Highway in Bainbridge Township, east of Benton Harbor.

Investigators with the sheriff’s office and Michigan State Police determined the fire was intentionally set.
