GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — An iconic sculpture is going on display in downtown Grand Rapids.
A “LOVE” sculpture is being permanently installed at the Louis Campau Promenade downtown Tuesday afternoon.
Other “LOVE” sculptures are on display in Indianapolis, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Portugal and Jersalem.
The sculpture was brought to Grand Rapids by the Frey Foundation, which has supported investing in public art since it was established in 1974.
“The sculpture unveiling marks a historic moment for Grand Rapids and will forever change and give people a reason to explore Grand Rapids,” said Mayor Rosalynn Bliss said in a release. “It will add Grand Rapids to a list of global cities committed to high-quality public art and important public spaces such as New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Minneapolis and others.”
