MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — Testimony will begin Tuesday morning in the trial of Jeffrey Willis, who is accused of kidnapping and murdering Jessica Heeringa.
Opening statements are slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday after attorneys and Judge William Marietti narrowed the pool of potential jurors to 14 people last Friday. There are 12 jurors and two alternates.
Authorities say Willis abducted Heeringa on April 26, 2013 from a Norton Shores gas station where she worked, and then killed her. Heeringa’s body has not been found.
