Hundreds gather in GR for autism awareness walk

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Hundreds embarked to John Ball Park Sunday in Grand Rapids to take part in the 2018 Walk for Autism.

The 10th annual event raises awareness for autism and generates money for some important programs in Kent County. The programs range from music therapy to help in the classroom.

“The rate of autism is increasing, people should really care about this because about one in 59 children born will have autism,” said Pam Liggett, executive director of Autism Support Kent County.
