UPDATE: Wildfire Burning in Newaygo County Grows To 250 Acres

UPDATE: As of 9:47 P.M. Tuesday, the wildfire has grown to 250 acres, according to WOOD TV 8.  The station reported at 10:11 P.M. that two homes have also been evacuated.

ORIGINAL STORY:

BROOKS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Crews are fighting a large wildfire in Manistee National Forest in Newaygo County.

Newaygo County Emergency Management says the fire is covering 82 acres west of Bills Lake near M-82 and is spreading.

Multiple fire departments, the U.S. Forest Service and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources are working to put the fire out.
