President Trump holds Saturday rally in Michigan

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — President Donald Trump is again skipping the White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington, D.C. to visit a lesser-known Washington, in Michigan.

The “Make American Great Again Rally” took place at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Total Sports Park in Washington, north of Detroit. The event was slated to start around the same time as the White House Correspondents Dinner.

The president has opted out of the dinner both years he has been in office. Last year, Trump instead held a rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, during which he spent much of the evening bashing the press.
