KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run accident involving a police vehicle.
It happened just before 3:30 Saturday morning in Kalamazoo.
A Kalamazoo Public Safety officer had assisted in a traffic stop, parking his marked vehicle on South Westnedge Avenue near Hutchinson Street. The officer said his emergency lights were on.
Authorities say a white Ford Explorer hit the police vehicle causing extensive damage.
The officer was not in the vehicle during the incident and was not injured.
