Loaded gun found in luggage at Ford Airport

CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A woman was arrested Wednesday morning after a loaded firearm was found in her carry-on luggage at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport.

The .22 caliber-handgun at a security checkpoint in the Denver-bound 63-year-old woman’s luggage, which was confiscated by Transportation Security Administration officials. The woman was arrested on a state charge.

TSA officials are advising passengers that they are responsible for the content of bags they bring to the airport checkpoints and could be subject to criminal penalties by local law enforcement.
