FD: No obvious link between dead woman, burned home

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WOOD) — Investigators say a Muskegon Heights woman has no clear connection to the burned home her body was found in, days after a fire.

Yolanda Tate, 48, was found inside the vacant home in the 2900 block of 6th Street in Muskegon Heights on Tuesday. Investigators say she lived on Baker Street and it's unclear what she was doing in the house at the time of the fire.

The fire started around 4:38 a.m. Saturday. The first crews on scene found flames burning through the roof of the home in addition to fire on the first and second floors.

Tate’s body wasn’t discovered until Michigan State Police fire investigators were going through the second floor of the building on Tuesday.
