Wyoming Public Schools announces next superintendent

WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — Wyoming Public Schools announced its next superintendent in a Facebook post Tuesday.

Craig Hoekstra will take over as superintendent on July 1. He has been the district’s assistant superintendent for instructional services since 2015.

Hoekstra is replacing longtime superintendent Dr. Thomas Reeder, who is retiring.

The Wyoming Public Schools Board of Education interviewed Hoekstra April 18 and voted unanimously to enter contract discussions with him Monday.

He has spent 27 years in Wyoming Public Schools as a student, custodian, teacher, principal and his most recent role.
