Lowell nonprofit remains resilient one year after fire

LOWELL TOWNSHIP, Mich. (via WOOD TV 8) -- The Barn for Equine Learning has spent the last year bringing literal meaning to rising from the ashes.

Last April their 13 horses were killed in a fire that destroyed the barn Kathryn Welton, her family and friends spent a year building to get her nonprofit off the ground. 

Amazingly, she and her support system have made great strides rebuilding in just a span of 12 months.
