Man killed in officer-involved shooting in Kzoo Co.

PAVILION TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting Wednesday in Kalamazoo County's Pavilion Township.

It happened Wednesday afternoon at a residence in Pavilion Estates, southeast of Kalamazoo.

Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to remove suspected squatters living in a car from the property. Authorities said that when they arrived, a man came out with a gun and fired it into the air before backing off.

After an hourlong negotiation, the man came out and pointed the gun at officers.
