Tax Day 2018: Free tax help for low-income families

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — If you haven't already, taxes need to be filed by midnight Tuesday, April 17.

For those with income below $57,000, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program will prepare 2017 taxes for free.

Davenport University is sponsoring walk-ins at the Kent County community action center. It’s located in the Health and Human Service complex at 121 Franklin Street in Grand Rapids. Walk-in hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. People will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.
