2 teens among 3 dead after Berrien Co. chase

ROYALTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A chase involving deputies ended in a crash that killed three people and critically injured a fourth in Berrien County Sunday.

The incident started around 5:10 a.m. in Lincoln Township, where several guns were stolen from Black Arsenal Gun Store. The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office says an SUV matching the description of one linked to that break-in was spotted on eastbound I-94 just before 5:30 a.m.

When a deputy tried to pull the SUV over near Niles Road, southeast of St. Joseph, the driver pulled over then sped off. The deputy turned on his lights and siren and gave chase.
