Berrien Co. deputy chase ends in crash; 3 killed, 1 injured

ROYALTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A chase involving deputies ended in a crash that killed three people and critically injured a fourth in Berrien County Sunday.

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office says a vehicle matching the description of one connected to a break-in at the Black Arsenal Gun Store in Lincoln Township was spotted on I-94 around 5:30 a.m.

When deputies tried to pull the vehicle over on eastbound I-94 around Niles Road, southeast of St. Joseph, the driver pulled over then sped off. The deputy turned on his lights and siren and gave chase.
