2 teens injured in Battle Creek shooting; no arrests

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are investigating after two teenagers were shot in Battle Creek early Sunday morning.

Police were called around 3:30 p.m. for reports of shots fire near the intersection of Merritt and Cherry streets.

When they arrived on scene, a 15-year-old boy took officers to where a 17-year-old Battle Creek boy was found unresponsive with gunshot wounds. The 15-year-old then took officers to a house several blocks away where another 15-year-old was found with gunshot wounds.

Both victims were taken to the hospital. The 17-year-old boy is currently listed in critical condition while the 15-year-old boy is being treated for injuries that are not considered life threatening.
