Thousands without power in West Michigan

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Thousands of Consumers Energy customers in West Michigan are without power as a spring storm brings strong winds, rain, snow and ice to the region.

As of 1 p.m. Saturday, more than 23,000 customers in the state were in the dark, with more than 10,000 outages in West Michigan, including:

  • Kent County: 6,458 outages
  • Montcalm County: 1,195 outages
  • Ottawa County: 234 outages
  • Allegan County: 1,100 outages
  • Ionia County: 647 outages
  • Newaygo County: 605 outages
