Man killed in shooting in southeast Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.  — Police are investigating after a man was killed in a shooting in Grand Rapids early Monday morning.

Grand Rapids Police Department Sgt. Cathy Williams told 24 Hour News 8 that multiple people called 911 around 12:30 a.m. Monday to report hearing gunshots on the city's southeast side.

When police arrived on scene to a home in the 700 block of Delaware Street SE near Eastern Avenue, officers found a 28-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, whose name has not been released pending family notification, died at the scene.

Williams said that early investigation suggests that this was not a random act of violence.
