Bronson Park renovations underway in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Crews have started taking down statues in Kalamazoo’s Bronson Park Monday morning.

It’s part of the Kalamazoo Department of Parks and Recreations’ Bronson Park 21st Century campaign to renovate the downtown park.

Crews on scene told 24 Hour News 8 that the statues will go into storage until the renovations to the park are complete. They said there is no work yet to remove the controversial Fountain of the Pioneers, which city commissioners voted in March to take out of the park.
