BC truck spills 1,200 gallons of sewage

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — Crews had to 1,200 gallons of sewage Wednesday afternoon after it spilled out of the truck hauling it.

It happened around 1 p.m. Wednesday after a City of Battle Creek crew cleaned the Country Club Terrace lift station.

A city release said the truck was half full and the sewage pushed open the truck’s dump gate and spilled out. Staff thought the gate was locked, but it was actually frozen, the release said.
