Man arrested for fleeing police, crashing vehicle

BLOOMINGDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was arrested after police say he refused to stop and then crashed his vehicle into an intersection in Van Buren County Saturday night.

The crash happened around 10:00 p.m. on Van Buren Street near Kalamazoo Street in Bloomingdale Township.

Authorities said they tried pulling the man over for traffic violations, but he refused to stop. The short chase ended when he crashed into the intersection of 46th Street and County Road 388. 

The man crashed into several trees, badly damaging the vehicle.
