Police suspect marijuana-infused brownies sickened students

WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — Police believe it was marijuana-infused brownies that made several Wyoming High School student not feel well Thursday.

Emergency personnel were dispatched to the school after several students fell ill Thursday morning. Two were taken to the hospital to be treated and later released.

The students allegedly ate brownies brought to school by another student.

Wyoming police told 24 Hour News 8 that investigators suspect there was marijuana in the brownies, but are waiting for test results to confirm the substance.

Ingesting a large amount of marijuana-infused brownies can cause discomfort for an extended period of time.

Authorities say police are continuing to investigate the incident. As of Friday morning, no one had been arrested.
