Livonia Amazon site mirrors local project image

LIVONIA, Mich. (WOOD) — Amazon hasn't yet said whether it's going to build a distribution center in southern Kent County, but the mayor of Livonia says the rendering for the proposed project looks a lot like the Amazon facility in his city.

“That's it," Mayor Dennis Wright said Tuesday upon being shown the rendering of the so-called Project Rapids in Gaines Township.

The development would sit near the intersection of Patterson Avenue and 68th Street. Citing sources, MiBiz.com reported Monday it will be home to an Amazon facility. There’s still no official word from the online retail giant.

Also familiar to Livonia officials is the way Amazon handled announcements involving their distribution center.
