Ottawa County dispatchers told 24 Hour News 8 that if drivers damage their vehicles, they should get off the road as far as possible then call for assistance. Drivers should not leave their vehicles.
The Ottawa County Road Commission said crews are having trouble fixing the potholes because patching doesn’t work as well when the roads are wet. Crews are waiting for warmer weather to give the potholes a long-term fix.
Drivers are advised to use caution in the area.
