Man critically injured in fiery Ottawa County crash

GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A 25-year-old man is critical condition after a fiery crash in Ottawa County Wednesday.

It happened shortly before 9 p.m. near the intersection of 144th Avenue and Buchanan Street near Grand Haven.

Authorities say the driver, a 25-year-old Grand Haven Township man, lost control and crashed into a tree. He was pinned inside when the vehicle caught fire.

The driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to the Ottawa Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
