Most Americans Disapprove of Graham-Cassidy Health Care Bill

CBSNEWS - Most Americans disapprove of the Graham-Cassidy bill, and it gets just 20% approval. Those with an opinion disapprove by more than two to one. Fewer than half of Republicans approve, and only 18% of independents do. Overall, over a quarter declined to give an opinion, suggesting many people haven't heard enough about it yet.

Those who disapprove tend to say they “strongly” disapprove. Even among the Republicans who approve, more describe themselves as being “somewhat” approving than “strongly” approving.

A plurality of Americans says Republicans in Congress are moving too fast to try to pass the bill. Four in ten Republicans think things are moving too slowly.

The Americans who feel the bill would impact them believe it will hurt them. Only 7% of Americans think the bill would help them personally. Half of Americans, and six in ten Republicans, see no personal impact either way.
