GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Gaines Township Tuesday.
It happened shortly before 9 a.m. near the intersection of 68th Street and Hanna Lake Avenue, according to dispatchers.
Kent County Sheriff Sgt. Corey Luce told 24 Hour News 8 that an eastbound vehicle, driven by a 29-year-old Sparta woman, was turning north onto Hanna Lake Avenue when she was struck by a westbound motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, a 28-year-old Gaines Township man, was pronounced dead on the scene.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek an alternative route while authorities investigate and work to clear the scene.
