Tigers trade Justin Upton to Angels for prospects

Multiple media outlets are reporting that the Detroit Tigers have traded Justin Upton and cash to cover part of his 2017 salary to the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for the Angels' #9 overall prospect Grayson Long (P) and a lower-level player to be named later.

This season with the Tigers, Upton was hitting .279 with 28 homeruns and 94 RBI in 125 games played. Upton reportedly informed the Tigers that we would be declining his player option for 2018 after this season.
