Wyoming mom accused of baby boy’s murder

WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — A 22-year-old Wyoming mother has been charged with murder and child abuse in the death of her baby.

Lovily Johnson was arraigned Monday on first-degree murder and first-degree child abuse charges in connection to the suspicious death of her 6-month-old child. Both charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison.

The Wyoming Department of Public Safety said Lovily had taken her child to the emergency room at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Wednesday. The baby was dead when he arrived at the hospital, according to police.

Authorities said they believe the infant died in the 2600 block McKee Avenue SW. Lovily was arrested late Wednesday night.
