Police: 2 stabbed in face, torso in Battle Creek

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — Battle Creek police say a woman was stabbed in the face and a man was stabbed in the torso on the city’s southeast side.

Police were called to the scene around 6:20 a.m. Friday. Battle Creek Police Chief James Blocker says officers found the injured man and woman in separate adjacent homes in the 100 block of East Kingman Avenue.

Officers say a 20-year-old woman was stabbed in the face and a 40-year-old man was stabbed in the torso with the same folding knife. Both are expected to recover from their injuries, according to officers.

Investigators say the stabbing is related to a domestic dispute and they’re not looking for additional suspects. Authorities say both the man and woman will face felony charges in the incident.

Authorities are withholding their names until they’re formally charged.
