Police Investigate Southeast GR Shooting

Police are investigating a shooting in Southeast Grand Rapids that happened Tuesday evening.

Officers responded to reports of a single-person shooting just before 7:00 PM in the 800 block of Ballard Street SE just east of Eastern Avenue.

Police say the shooter fired the gun five times, hitting the 45-year-old male victim in the stomach.  It's not clear how many times he was shot.  His injuries have been deemed life-threatening.  

Two people were taken into custody in relation to the shooting Tuesday evening.  One is a person of interest, and the other is a possible suspect.

No names have been released.
