Man shot in chest in Muskegon Heights; suspect sought

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WOOD) – A man is in critical condition after being shot in the chest in Muskegon Heights early Friday afternoon, according to authorities.

The man, who is in his 30s, was found around 12:30 p.m. off of Sanford Street in a parking lot south of the Muskegon Heights Library, Muskegon Heights Police Chief Joseph Thomas Jr. said. His name has not been released.

The suspect in the shooting is not in police custody. Further details weren’t released.
