Immigration Rights Rallies Planned

Immigrant rights groups in several Michigan cities are signing on to a nationwide movement to march and protest against President Donald Trump and his administration's immigration policy proposals. Mlive reports  on May 1, the statewide immigration coalition Michigan United and participating groups in Detroit, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Lansing are calling for residents to abstain from shopping, working and going to school to show solidarity with immigrant families and march for immigrant rights. The protests, marches and rallies are part of a nationwide "RiseUP" movement organized by Reform Immigration for America and other pro-immigrant groups.
