High Water Levels On The Grand

The flood warning for the Grand River at Ionia in Ionia county has been canceled and downgraded to a flood advisory.The flood warning continues in Kent County, affecting Comstock Park, Lowell, Robinson Township and Grand Rapids. NWS said that these points in the river are at or above "bankfull" and the main stem rivers will continue at high levels.According to NWS, high-pressure system will dominate the weather across southern Michigan through Wednesday evening and to expect light precipitation, about a quarter inch or less, on Thursday. The rainfall should have little impact on local river levels.A more significant rainfall, about an inch of rain, is expected on Friday and into Saturday, but higher amounts are possible. NWS said the runoff from the rainfall could cause river levels to rise.
