Crash Involving Rapid Bus Closes WB I-96 at I-196 Split

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A multi-vehicle crash involving a Rapid bus has shut down westbound I-96 at the I-196 split in Grand Rapids.

Michigan State Police say a Rapid bus and two or three cars were involved in the crash around 9 a.m. It’s unclear what led up to the crash.

Police say two people suffered minor injuries including the bus driver.

The westbound lanes of I-96 at I-196 were closed around 9:20 a.m. Authorities expect the highway to reopen soon.
